Our Legacy and History
Lion Hills Coffee is steeped in history, named after the late Hon. Ezekiel Barngetuny. While his family name, Barngetuny, translates to “lion slayer” and evokes a rich lineage dating back to the 1800s, Ezekiel himself wasn’t a hunter. He was a visionary with a different kind of courage – the courage to cultivate.
Ezekiel saw the potential in the land, not for hunting, but for nurturing exceptional coffee. This shift from hunting grounds to fertile fields represents the core of Lion Hills Coffee.
